When you become an IABC member, you join a worldwide network of fellow professionals who are committed to the highest organizational communication standards.

As a 15,435-member not-for-profit association, IABC is a learning community for professionals committed to improving the effectiveness of organizations through strategic communication. IABC members practice the disciplines of corporate communication, employee/internal communication, marketing communication, public relations/external communication, media relations, community relations, public affairs, investor relations and government relations.

Types of Membership

Professional:
Entitles holder to all the benefits of IABC membership. Reserved for professional communicators in industrial, nonprofit, government and other organizations. Annual dues are U.S. $230 plus local chapter and district/region dues (which vary according to location). A $40 application fee applies.

Student:
Full-time students of colleges, universities and other educational institutions as well as part-time students working toward a degree, who are not presently working in the communication profession. (Dues are U.S. $40.00. Additional local chapter and district/regions dues may apply.)

Student transition:
Current student members up to one year after graduation from college or university. The regular application fee is waived and the student pays half of the international dues (plus full district and chapter dues).

Retiree:
Individuals who were professional IABC members for at least five years, are generally considered to be retired, and are at least 55 years of age.

Life, Fellow, and honorary:
Conferred upon members by the IABC international executive board.
